Aimee and I had an online relationship for a few months before we met for the first time at the Sienna Reid styled shoot. Well, technically the first time we met was at Anglesea Accident and Emergency the night that Phil Clarke wrote off his VR4 on Ulster Street.
Anywho, I digress (and yes, it is my goal to put those three words in every blog post), I approached Aimee to be a Running In Heels content client. I knew my vibe had attracted my tribe when she said “I love it!” when I wrote “please remember to bring the floral wall inside if the weather turns to poos” in her T’s and C’s.
Unfortunately we both came to our senses when considering Aimee’s corporate clients and decided there could possibly be a better word to use than poos…
I have massive creative envy when I look at Aimee’s floral amazingness, and I love watching her business develop and grow, but more than that I love watching her develop and grow. My favourite thing is when I’m in Countdown, and my phone rings, and before I can even get it to my ear I can hear Aimee saying, “so, you were right!”
And it’s not because I know everything, but because Aimee is learning the same business lessons in pretty much the same order that I did, so I get to say “so, this is how it’s going to go down”, and then sit in my smugness and wait for the call in Countdown.
Aimee and I have some spooky similarities in our lives, our partners are the same person in two different bodies (“can you ask Aimee where her husband got his shoes from?”) and this week we both coincidentally went to the pastel side and are quite obviously channeling our inner unicorn.
This week Cherie from Pepper & Me, did a shout out on Snapchat because she’s super passionate about supporting other women in business, and it reminded me that I need to publicly celebrate the women that I happen across on this crazy path that we call life.
So Aimee has been kicking ass when it comes to flower walls and swings and garlands for quite some time, but last night she styled her first event. It was just a small event…just a black tie charity event for 900 people!
Aimee custom made a 6m flower wall. Yeah, yeah, no biggy, we all learned about oasis in art class at intermediate. But it would take a shit load of oasis to completely decorate a huge truss suspended from the ceiling at Claudelands in Hamilton…and Aimee did it without any oasis!
So why choose Sienna Reid for your wedding, party, corporate function or workplace? Because not only is Aimee a super talented silk flower enthusiast, all of her amazing stuff is fully customised just for you.
The greenery Aimee uses is made from recycled plastic, she sources her high quality silk flowers from NZ suppliers, and believe me when I say she will get super excited about your event – she gets excited about every event she does!
