Pepper & Me Brassica Salad | What Hazel Said

Disclaimer: This salad was off the cuff, so I didn’t really pay attention to measurements, I was pretty happy with how it turned out, so thought I would share it while I’m on a roll with the Pepper & Me recipes. The best thing about cooking with Pepper & Me products, is that you can wing it and it still works out. And no, Cherie doesn’t pay me to say that.


Pepper & Me | Brassica Salad

  • 1/2 head of broccoli
  • 1/2 head of cauliflower
  • Oil
  • 1 tblsp Pepper & Me Man Rub
  • Handful of salad greens (you can add more, it's all I had)
  • 1/2 block of haloumi
  • 1/2 pack of pine nuts
  • Decent shake of Pepper & Me Mother Dukkah
  • Punnet of cherry tomatoes


  • Parboil the broccoli and cauliflower. I put mine in the rice cooker and nuked them in the microwave for three mins
  • Add a splash of oil and the Pepper & Me Man Rub to the broccoli and cauliflower, and mix until covered
  • Add the broccoli and cauliflower to a roasting dish and pop in the oven at 180 until they are delicious looking (think this was about 10 mins)
  • Leave the broccoli and cauliflower to the side to cool
  • Cook the haloumi (I did this in squares, you could use slices)
  • Put the pine nuts and Pepper & Me Mother Dukkah in a pan on medium heat and toss them around until they slightly roasted looking and smelling amazing
  • Add all ingredients to a large bowl with salad greens and cherry toms, add fresh herbs if you have them
  • I squeezed some lemon juice over mine as a dressing
