Pepper & Me Creamy Beef & Bacon | What Hazel Said

Disclaimer: I am not a great measurerer. Please don’t worry too much if you don’t follow the recipe below to the gram – I promise the next time I make it, I won’t be. The best thing about cooking with Pepper & Me products, is that even when you think you’ve ruined dinner, it’s still a party in your mouth. And no, Cherie doesn’t pay me to say that.

Prep Time: Cooking Time:

  • 4 x beef schnitzel pieces
  • 2 tsp Pepper & Me Man Rub
  • 2 tsp cornflour
  • Oil for frying (I used peanut oil)
  • 4 x rashers bacon
  • 6 - 8 x mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 tblsp Pepper & Me Mexcellent Paste
  • 1 tub sour cream (I used full fat)
  • Spring onion (finely sliced)

  • Slice up the beef into strips, put in a bowl and add the cornflour and Pepper & Me Man Rub, stir to cover beef
  • Fast fry the beef in small batches using your preferred oil
  • Set beef aside
  • Fry bacon (and mushroom if you are going to use this), add the sour cream and Pepper & Me Mexcellent Paste and stir until combined
  • Add beef back to creamy mix
  • Add sliced spring onion

To serve: I served Julio's with pasta (as shown), and mine with cauliflower rice. I added a generous helping of sour cream, and then some Pepper & Me Mother Dukkah (because it had just arrived and I wanted to try it and it was ah-mazing!) Variations: Feel free to add veggies like courgette or capsicum at the bacon stage. Instead of spring onion (or as well as), stir through some spinach for extra goodness.
